The story · La historia
I studied graphic arts in Puerto Rico and went to work at a design firm in San Juan, where I ended up as Senior Art Director and Lead Developer for twelve years. We shipped client websites steadily, year after year. I designed most of them and built a lot of them, which is where the habit of owning the whole thing started.
Then came senior frontend and full-stack roles: five years modernizing kiosk software, and now leading a utility payment platform in San Antonio. Card readers, receipt printers, encryption, hardware that has to work on the first try in front of a customer. It made me careful.
In 2019 I tried to simplify: let the side projects go, focus on one employer. Three clients declined to be let go. I kept their sites running, kept answering the phone, and somewhere in there realized this is the work I want to do full time.
So in 2026 I came back to it. Wepa Web Works puts all of it in one place: someone who can design your site, build it, host it, and answer when something goes sideways. In English or in Spanish, from San Antonio, Texas.
Timeline · Trayectoria
Atlantic College, Guaynabo. Typography, layout, print, and the first client sites. Art director and webmaster from the start, which is why the sites read well before anyone touches a stylesheet.
A design firm in San Juan. 200+ client sites from first sketch to launch, plus the company's first backup routines and 100+ zero-downtime migrations. UIET and 787 Fishing start here.
Kiosk software in Pennsylvania, remote from Texas. Delivered custom applications solo, prototype through deployment, with zero client-reported issues. Introduced React to the team and mentored on responsive, accessible design.
Leading a utility payment kiosk platform in San Antonio, from legacy desktop software to a modern web application. EMV card readers, encryption, tests on every feature, deployments that run themselves.
Back to my own company. A one-person studio in San Antonio: design, development, hosting and care for businesses in Texas, Puerto Rico and anywhere in between.
On the new tools · Las herramientas nuevas
I was the first developer on my team to ship production features with agentic AI workflows, and the one who brought the rest of the team onto them. It changed what a single person can take on: work that used to need a team now fits in one pair of hands.
What has not changed is the part that matters. Twenty years of doing this by hand is what tells me when the machine is wrong, and every feature still goes out with tests, a code review and my name on it.
A few things you can count on
No account manager, no ticket queue. The person who designs and builds it is the person who answers.
A one-page plan before any work starts. If something changes, we talk about it before it costs you.
Hosted on servers I run, backed up, monitored. I plan on being around for years, so I build like it.

The name · El nombre
In Puerto Rico, wepa is what comes out when something goes right: the goal goes in, the music starts, the site goes live. I named the studio after that moment, because it is the one I am working toward on every project.
It also happens to sound like "web apps," which is convenient.
Thirty minutes, English or Spanish. No pitch, just questions.
